Fourth Plinth Schools Awards

The Fourth Plinth Schools Awards is a competition open to all schools across London. Students aged 5 - 15 are invited to make an artwork - in any media - in response to the Fourth Plinth commissioning programme. Over 500 submissions were sent in this year. Of the 27 shortlisted by Yinka Shonibare MBE, the current recipient of the Fourth Plinth commission, first, second and third prizes were also awarded. The winning artworks were included in an exhibition at City Hall from 4-29 April 2011.
